First Day of School ( A Week Late)

Oh happy day, school is back in session. Last Monday was the first day of school.

The three kids before school. Mia thought for sure she was going to go to school this year also. Poor thing had no idea she would be stuck at home with me all day. The first three days of school I walked the kids up to where they line up and she wore that back pack all three days, and lined up with them until we left.

Look at my handsome first grader. He was not that excited about school, in fact he didn't want to go. He said, "In first grade all you do is sit at a desk ALL day long, that's just boring." (He is his father's child)

Landon got the teacher that we wanted, Mrs. Mahalati. He was very excited that a few of his friends from Kindergarten were going to be in his class. On the playground each class gets assigned a specific area and then it rotates each week. He was mad he got stuck with teatherball and four square his first week. He was however, excited there was no homework for the first week of school. Isabel was ecstatic to be going to school. She couldn't wait to be in Kindergarten. She gets to go to school all day like Landon, take a backpack and a lunch. She barely slept the night before and couldn't wait to pick out her clothes. (She is her mother's child) Of course my girlie girl wanted to wear a dress, isn't she cute.

Isabel also got the teacher we requested. Mrs. Donkersgoed was also Landon's teacher and we just love her. Four other kids from her preschool class are in her class again, she was very excited.

Well I am very excited to have two kids in school from eight until three every day. I am much more efficient with my work and errands are so much better with only one. Mia is adjusting and goes back and forth between being thrilled to have all of grandma and mom's attention or bored and wanting her brother and sister home.
